October Awareness Month: Breast Cancer, Depression, Domestic Violence
October is a month of many things. Most notably Breast Cancer Awareness as well as Depression and Domestic Violence Awareness. We feel it’s important to educate yourself on these topics and remain conscious of them. A great way to learn and spread awareness is by volunteering or, if you’re a blogger, promoting these causes on your site. A few iFabbo Members have gone above and beyond promoting awareness for these causes and we’d love it if you’d go on over to their blogs and check them out.
Breast Cancer Awareness
BreastCancer.org states that 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. The most significant risks factors are gender and age, two things you can’t control. Early detection is key and screenings as well as at-home exams are very important. Learn how you can lower your risk at BreastCancer.org.

- A Brilliant Brunette has an awareness e-event where you can submit your pink looks to show your support!
Depression Awareness
Depression will affect everyone at some point in their lifetime, whether it’s plaguing someone they love or they are feeling the symptoms personally. The statistics are staggering. If you find yourself worried about your thoughts and feelings or those of a loved one, please educate yourself and ask for help.
- Beauty Judy shows off her favorite green nail polishes to support those who battle daily with this disease.
Domestic Violence Awareness
No one deserves to be abused. One in four women have experienced domestic violence at some point in her lifetime. Women also account for 85% of victims of this type of assault. If you or someone you know is being abused, contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline for information on how you can help.
Have you used your blog to help raise awareness to the causes above, or to any of the other causes that are within the month of October?
