We know you’re busy. Sometimes it can be difficult to update your blog or keep up with comments while you’re on the run. So, how do you blog on the go? Whether you’re on these platforms or considering a switch, the following blogging apps are fantastic for mobile usage.
Perhaps the most versatile of the blog platforms listed here, WordPress offers a mobile app for your smartphone that allows you to create and modify blog entries, moderate comments, view your stats, and more. The app allows for notifications sent directly to your phone when someone comments or likes your post, and with your smartphone’s camera, you can easily post wherever you are with content and an image to boot! The WordPress mobile application is available on iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, Nokia, and WebOS. No smartphone? WordPress has a mobile service where you can either text or e-mail in an entry with a picture as an attachment.
One of the most visual mediums in blogging is Tumblr. It’s great to have the ability to share your phoneography on the fly. Like WordPress, Tumblr offers a mobile application that allows you to post, moderate comments and also view other bloggers’ Tumblrs. The official Tumblr application is available on iOS and Android. Third-party Tumblr mobile apps are also up for grabs on iOS, Android and BlackBerry.
Blogger offers a mobile application similar to WordPress and Tumblr. From your smartphone, you can create content and upload pictures, respond to comments, and more. Like WordPress, Blogger also allows you to text message and/or e-mail posts from your mobile device. The Blogger mobile app is available on iOS and Android.
As with any of these blogging platforms, you can try to access the site by using your phone’s browser. But we highly recommend using a mobile app because it provides a much better (and easier!) experience. Just imagine having your blog with you all the time at your fingertips!
Let us know in the comments - do you use any mobile blogging apps? What has your experience been with them? What do you like or dislike about mobile blogging?
