As the holiday season rapidly approaches, you may be left feeling a little breathless with all of your scheduled activities and preparations for the festivities.  One thing that you shouldn’t have to stress about is enhancing your beauty!

In this article, you’ll get to check out our favorite holiday products that are on point for any social gathering:

A Festive Eye Palette
Dior always comes out with fabulous palettes for the Holiday.  This year is no exception.  These palettes tend to lean rather warm toned, so you cool toned lovelies can check out the goodies from Bobbi Brown. Drugstore Divas head for L’Oreal, where you can check out the latest Limited Edition palettes.

Sultry Lip Service
A deep lip is essential for your face to stand out and  look fierce.  Red is a popular choice around this time of year but don’t forget about that amazing shade of bordeaux that is so hot this season.  Brands such as Guerlain and Make Up For Ever have lip products available in a variety of shades that will last through dinner, drinks, and still be on your pucker when you wake up the next morning.

Accentuate but Understate
Keep it classy with a toned down shade of blush in a matte or satin formula.  NARS, MAC and Physician’s Formula make excellent cheek hues.  If you apply a cream blush first and then dust a powder on top, it will last longer.

What you buy matters.  But, more importantly, you need to test the products before the big night and also practice effective application.  Just because something says “long lasting” doesn’t mean it is.  Don’t learn that the hard way.

Stuff to Keep in Your Clutch

  • Blotting Papers.  You can get them on the cheap at your Target.  Try  e.l.f. professional Shine Eraser Blotting Sheets.  You get 50 for $1.49!
  • Lipstick.  This is a given!  If you don’t want to worry about painstaking reapplication of a vampy shade, apply a stain or long-lasting shade before you leave the house (like from Guerlain or Make Up For Ever) and just bring a coordinating gloss shade for touch-ups.
  • Powder.  Pressed is best.  No one wants to deal with the loose stuff in their bag and carting around a brush.  Use Lancome Dual Finish Powder for a nice, matte finish.
  • Gum.  So, you had some garlic on that chicken?  Pop a piece of gum in your mouth stat.  Mentos makes a strong gum that will beat the stink and keep your smile pretty.

Now it’s your turn! What do you do with your cosmetics for the holidays? Is it the same ol’, same ol’?
