You write, post, promote, upload, pin and tweet and then do it all over again. Anything to get your blog more exposure, to be seen and to win over new people to follow your work. In fact, it is a lot of work and a lot of effort that goes into finding the time to do all that. Glipho is a new kind of blogging platform that is supposed to make your life a lot easier in a few clicks. Here is how it works!
The concept is fairly easy. You sign up here, you create a profile and most importantly, you link up your social media outlets and connect your Blogger, WordPress or Tumblr account to Glipho! It will enable you to upload your latest blog posts, which will later be seen as a “gliph” (a small snippet of your post) on the main page for everyone.
As an alternative you can also decide to create a post on your Glipho desk, which needs to contain at least 150 words. Very easy to follow instructions and basic navigation will make it comfortable for anyone who has been working with Blogger or Pinterest, as that is exactly what it feels like, a mixture of those two platforms. You can find a more detailed tutorial on how to use Glipho here.
Once a post is uploaded or manually created, you can share everything via your usual social media and of course with the Glipho community. Options to follow profiles and like posts make it easy to build your Glipho audience. On the Glipho home page all posts will be displayed in form of gliphs to get readers attention. You will be able to chat with other members and exchange info on gliphs. Glipho also offers an area to highlight trending writers, so reader engagement is important!
Glipho has a broad community of writers coming from various fields such as fashion & beauty or technology, travel, food or sport. You can decide in which area your posts will appear and browse any area at any time if you feel the urge to explore.
This is a great opportunity for bloggers who want to build an audience but aren’t quite sure how to go about it. As the Glipho community is already there, it’s an easy starting point and makes it easier to get comfortable with sharing information and spreading your wings as a blogger.
Making new connections and sharing content is definitely an easy way to grow your blog. For more advanced bloggers though it might not be as attractive, as it is yet another platform that needs attention if you wish to build a strong audience.
With Glipho though your post can potentially be seen and shared by a huge audience easily and search engines most certainly never forget a link. So just by uploading your blog and social media info your outreach can potentially grow as well!
Based in the UK, Glipho is a rather new platform. Founded in 2012, this site just recently started to reach out into the US. Creating a profile now might get you ahead of your competition as an early start also means less competition!
Are you using Glipho? What are your thoughts on the new platform?
