Fall 2012: The Beauty Trends that Rocked the Runway
It never ceases to amaze us the amount of work and creativity that goes into putting on a show for Fashion Week. As the stomp of stilettos echoed off the catwalk, we made note of our favorite Fall 2012 Beauty Trends.
The Vampy Lip
Shown in shades of burgundy, mulberry, and plum this lip was prominent at shows such as Badgley Mischka, Viktor & Rolf (shown), and YSL. Looking for your own saturated bordeaux that will stay on? Try the new Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge, Guerlain Rouge G de Guerlain L’Extrait, and YSL Beaute Glossy Stain!
Bold Brows
Thick statement brows gave a strong showing at Donna Karan, Chanel, and J. Mendel (shown). Achieve this easily by using essential brow powders and pencils from brands like Anastasia and Tweezerman.
Colorful Color Blocking
The eyes accented the fashion in a bold way at shows such as Roberto Cavalli (shown), Prada, and Prabal Gurung. Get creative on your own with some of the new palettes released from Urban Decay!
Faded Smoke
The smoky eye claimed the faces at shows such as Burberry (shown), Louis Vuitton, and Salvatore Ferragamo. Smoky neutrals are beauty essentials to brands like Bobbi Brown.
Winged Out
Statement liner commanded attention at shows such as Lanvin, Altuzarra (shown), and Giorgio Armani. For precision in application look to brands such as Le Metier de Beaute and MAC.
Keep It Real
A great alternative to the sultry and bold look of Fall is to remain fresh and natural. As shown on the runway by Dior (shown) and Ralph Lauren, to wear makeup and make it look effortless is timeless and knows no season.
As a side note, don’t forget about your nails! They matter and can really bring the entire look together. Hot nail trends for Fall include a metallic finish as well as dark jewel tones (Zoya and OPI have some great shades!). If you like to keep your nails more work-safe and nude, some fabulous hues for Fall are taupe, mauve, grey or tan. Dior and Essie are great brands for shades like this.
What is your favorite look for Fall? It doesn’t matter if it’s “trendy,” share with us in the comments below!

So I have natural bold brows, I am loving the dark lip trend and all types of smokey eyes are my all tie favourite. I am so glad all these are in trend right now and will go with us into 2013 too.

It’s good that fresh and natural look remains trendy and timeless. Most of other trends come and go and after a few years we look at some old photographs with horror: How could I wear this? However, faded smoky eyes look pretty and quite natural, too.
